  The 'Sustainable release' and 'Stimuli-responsive release' are the most advanced drug delivery systems. The sustainable release can be achieved by changing the micro/nano structure of the drug container. The stimuli-responsive method of drug release is mainly based on the responsive of the material to the pH, temperature, UV light and external electromagnetic field. There are few researches which deal with the mechanical stimulus in drug delivery system.


  In our Lab., we focused on the 'Mechanical stimuli' to release the drug by bending, pressing, and stretching the human body parts. We apply various fabrication methods (Micro fabrication of silicon rubber, polymer microstructures, electrospun fibers, and electrosprayed particles) for the mechanical stimulated multifunctional drug delivery system. Currently the team works to find the more advanced materials for biological applications.
