bullet Autonomics

Postdoctoral Fellows


Our ongoing research is in designing and developing autonomic systems that are context-aware, so that the services and resources that they offer change according to context changes. Applicants must have a Ph.D., preferably in computer science, and have good programming skills. A strong background in knowledge engineering (especially ontology design and alignment and/or semantic reasoning), information/data model design, code generation using models, control theory, policy based management, ubiquitous and pervasive computing, and/or machine-based learning and reasoning is desired. Expertise in prototyping and commercially developing research results, and working in a high-energy team environment, is essential.

Research Professors


Successful candidates will be asked to teach one course per semester and contribute to our research program, both academically as well as supporting the commercialization of our research. Teaching experience is mandatory; familiarity in one of the following areas is very desired: information/data modeling; ontology design, matching, and alignment; policy-based management; control theory; network management; language or compiler design; machine-based learning and/or reasoning. A strong publication record is essential. Prototyping and commercial development is strongly desired.

bullet Communications/ Networks

Candidates should have a Ph.D. and experience in one or more of the following areas: body area network (low power design of MAC, data converter, modem, RF, processor), security and noise immunity, Internet/ Future Internet, overlay network, mobile and wireless networks, OFDMA networks, error correction coding, multi-antenna systems, spread-spectrum systems, convex optimization, and signal processing. All candidates should have journal publications related to above mentioned areas and significant software programming and/or prototyping experience, and can conduct independent research.
The successful applicants will be involved in the design of multidisciplinary autonomic systems intersecting wireless communication, control systems, bio-sensors, nano-material, and knowledge engineering, and will have an opportunity to interact with world renowned experts in these fields.

bullet Bioinformatics

Candidates should have a Ph.D. and experience in one or more of the following areas: bioinformatics, computational biology, network biology, comparative genomics, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and microarray data analysis. All candidates should have journal publications related to above mentioned area and biological and/or computational experience, and can conduct independent research. The successful applicants will be involved in the development of computational biology research focused on transcriptomics, genomics, proteomics and network biology, and understanding molecular mechanisms regulating aging processes using C. elegans and/or Drosophila. He/She will also have an opportunity to interact with world renowned experts in these fields.

bullet Nano-biosensors

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in one of these fields: Chemistry, Molecular biology, Bioengineering, Electrical engineering. Prior thesis experience or knowledge of electrochemistry, biosensors and related areas is desirable. The project involves fabrication of nanowire based CMOS as sensor platform, selection of probes for specific sensing targets, probe attachment chemistry, signal generation upon probe-target hybridization, signal processing and eventually, wafer-scale fabrication of biosensors. Hands-on experience in the above areas and publication record is strongly preferred.

bullet Nanoscale Memory

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in one of these areas: Electrical engineering, Physics, Material science. Project involves development of nanoscale memory using nanowires of phase change materials (PCM). Specific activities include growth and characterization of various PCM nanowires, fabrication and testing of memory devices and wafer-scale fabrication. Experience in device fabrication, nanomaterial growth and related areas are preferred.
