NANO SENSORS / SYSTEMS

RESEARCH AIM

Nano-sensors and systems are critical for realizing U-Health and U-Environment applications. Research will concentrate on scaling nano-devices and -systems as well as improving their scalability and enhancing the reliability of different nanostructure-based communication and data processing methods. Modeling such devices is critical for new bio-medical applications.

EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

Education on this topic will concentrate on integrating electronics, communications and integrated circuit technologies in conjunction with elements from other IT convergence engineering courses in order to develop new nano-sensors to collect data and nano-devices to implement U-Health and U-Environment applications. Research applies the theory learned in courses to the design, modeling, and prototyping of new RF integrated circuits that implement various nano-component functions, such as incorporating micro-fluidic analysis for classifying genes.
